Order wait times dropped by 21%
Rain, snow, and other inclement weather can impact delivery times: couriers slow down, wait times increase, and far fewer orders can be delivered within a reasonable timeframe. This causes some clients cancel their order and a few to give up on the service altogether. Weather data from Meteum taught the delivery service how to better plan courier numbers during inclement conditions. That drove a 17% drop in errors by the model predicting daily courier demand. During rainy or snowy days, order wait times were cut by 21%, while incremental GMV during sudden weather changes grew by 14%.
